Total Ankle Replacement

Patients suffering from conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, tarsal tunnel syndrome, or an ankle injury may benefit from a procedure known as total ankle replacement, an alternative treatment designed to give patients suffering from these conditions limited mobility. Our office uses the INFINITY Total Ankle System, which consists of a highly polished metal talar dome, a titanium alloy tibial tray, and an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene insert. This system reduces pain, restores alignment, and replaces the flexion and extension movement in the ankle joint.

In total ankle replacement, the podiatric surgeon covers the distal tibia with a metal tibial tray, the talus with a metal talar dome, and then places a poly black between the two parts. Use of the INFINITY Total Ankle System requires specific training certification from your podiatric surgeon before use. If you have any questions regarding the INFINITY Total Ankle System or total ankle replacement, contact us today!
